Diploma and Transcript Translation in Ontario: IRCC or ATIO-Certified?

If you need to translate a diploma, transcript, or academic record, the first question is not the language pair. The first question is where you are submitting it. For IRCC, WES, IQAS and ICAS, a standard certified translation is usually enough. You need an ATIO-certified translation when the receiving institution names it, for example OINP, PEO, CPSO, NDEB, OCT or PEBC.

Standard Certified Translation

Typical use: IRCC, WES, IQAS, ICAS, general employment, and cases where an affidavit-based certified translation is accepted.

  • From $59 + HST per document, each extra page $49
  • Usually 1-2 business days
  • Affidavit included
  • For IRCC, the notarized true copy of the original is a separate step
ATIO-Certified Translation

Typical use: OINP, PEO, CPSO, NDEB, OCT, PEBC, NNAS, Service Ontario driver's licence exchange, and organizations that explicitly request an ATIO translator.

  • From $109 + HST per document
  • Usually 2-4 business days
  • Stamped and signed by an ATIO-certified translator
  • Best when the receiving institution names ATIO or certified translator requirements

How to choose the right option

Choose standard certified translation if the document is for IRCC or another recipient that accepts a regular certified translation with affidavit.

Choose ATIO-certified translation if the professional body, court or government office explicitly requests an ATIO translator or official certified translator in Ontario.

How to order

Upload the diploma, transcript, and all pages you need translated. In the order notes, tell us exactly where you will submit the translation, for example IRCC, WES, or PEBC. That is the fastest way to avoid ordering the wrong certification type.
